Target Audience for Encanto:
- Primary (MASS) - men and women aged 4-18 who enjoy family fun movies - themes of community - hispanic community - South American / English primary ethnicities - C1 to B streaming service prices, cinema prices, themes within the film. 
- Secondary (MASS) - Adults: 25-50 - Fans of Disney films and original scores and songs - fans of animation - broader in temrs of race and ethnicity - globally distrubuted.
- Tertiary (NICHE) - fans of Lin-Manuel Miranda - Latino community - Fans of musicals - film reviewers.

The appeal of Disney films for adults:
- Nostalgia - looking back to childhood.
- The hidden jokes for adult audiences/innuendoes.
- The narrative and theme - are predictable - this is appealing and expected by audiences.
- Values: American values - opportunity, the dream, freedom, being patriotic, love and family - universal values and themes. 

Gathering audience responses and interacting with audiences:
- It's equally important for companies to gather feedback and interact with their audiences as much as it is important that audiences have uses and purposes for these products.

1 - One way social media has been used to advertise Encanto was promoting trailers through paid ads on twitter / X. Disney would pay twitter for ads to come up on twitter with the Encanto trailer embedded within a tweet for a mass audience to see.
2- Another way social media has been used to advertise Encanto is through cross-promotion on Disney's different social media channels. For example, the Disney + tiktok account showing clips from the film (an account with millions of followers separate to the main Disney UK account).

Political factors, Economic factors, Social factors, Technological factors. 
A PEST or SWOT analysis is used for research and evlauating purposes, when creating or gathering ideas for a media product.
